National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Workplace Falls

May 5-9th, 2025

The National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction is an annual event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety. Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 421 of the 1,075 construction fatalities recorded in 2023 (BLS data). The national Safety Stand-Down raises fall hazard awareness across the country in an effort to stop fall fatalities and injuries.

Anyone can participate and there are several activities that you can conduct to help raise awareness.

Below is what we have available in the OWYN Safety Management Platform:

  • Allow users to archive SDS and restore archived versions when needed (action button available to archive next to each SDS uploaded into the system).
  • Users are able to sort the SDS table by the available headings with the exception of Actions.
  • Share SDS button available to select the SDS and those individuals that you want to share this information with. You can set an expiration date for those to view the document but if they do not view it within that time, they will go to a blank page.
  • Bulk download option of the SDS that are currently listed in the table.
  • Ability to update the Chemical Name without having to archive the document due to misspellings or errors made when uploading. There is an “Edit Chemical Name” option under the Actions.

Employee SDS Update View:

  • It’s a read-only version. They can’t edit titles, archive/unarchive SDS, or add SDS to the system.
  • Employees only see active SDS as determined by the manager widget. Note: If a manager archives something, it will be removed from the employee widget and employee shares will be removed.
  • Employees can download SDS one at a time or in bulk like managers, they can search SDS, and they can share in a separate widget.
