Enrolling Employees in Individual Courses

OSHA requires employers to provide training to workers who face hazards on the job. With the OWYN Safety Management Platform, you can swiftly fulfill this requirement using our diverse range of online safety trainings for employees. We have over 50 courses available, many also available in Spanish.

The OWYN Safety Management Platform allows for you to easily enroll employees, keep track of progress and access training certificates for completed courses.

Need help enrolling employees in individual training courses? We’ve put together this video to help with all the information you need to get your employees enrolled.

Note: It is important to use a real email address when enrolling employees into online training. You can use Yahoo or Gmail to set up a free email account. We do not use these emails to send anything other than training notifications to employees (examples: enrollment in a course, deadlines approaching).

Holiday Workplace Safety

With the holidays fast approaching, employees tend to deal with more distractions than usual. Family coming in town for the holidays, purchasing gifts, decorating their homes – there are many holiday activities that take place that can easily cause people’s minds to wander when they’re at work. It is important as the employers to make sure to take into consideration how these issues can affect workers on the floor, on site, on the road, or at home.

  1. Fatigue: Offer longer breaks or adjust work schedules during the busy holiday season to prevent injuries caused by fatigue.
  2. Rushing and Frustration: Prioritize safety over meeting deadlines to avoid accidents due to employees rushing through tasks.
  3. Ladder Safety: Provide a refresher on ladder safety as more ladders are used during the holidays for decorations.
  4. Electrical Safety: Give a reminder on electrical safety to prevent incidents like shocks or fires caused by careless decoration use.
  5. Slips, Trips and Falls: Keep hallways clear and promptly remove snow/ice to minimize accidents due to slippery conditions.
  6. Food Safety: Ensure food is stored and served at correct temperatures during holiday parties to prevent illnesses, and label allergens appropriately.
  7. Drunk and Drowsy Driving: Arrange for transportation options for employees attending holiday parties where alcohol is served.
  8. Winter Hazards Preparation: Conduct toolbox talks to educate employees on winter hazards both at work and at home.
