How-To Guide: Maximizing Your Employee Handbook Customization
Employee safety handbooks play a crucial role in establishing clear safety guidelines, raising workplace awareness, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
At OWYN Safety, our safety management platform delivers comprehensive employee handbooks that provide essential information on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and best practices to protect your workforce.
Additionally, we offer flexibility to include company-specific details beyond the standard employee content. These additions are featured under the “Company Specific Safety Requirements” section within the employee handbooks and appear as addendums in the following safety manuals: Federal OSHA, Cal-OSHA IIPP, Washington State Safety Manual, and Minnesota State Safety Program.
To add company specific information:
- Go to the Building Icon in the upper right corner
- Choose Edit Company Settings
- Scroll down to the Company Specific Safety Requirements for Employees fields. Note: There are fields for English and Spanish. If you want information to appear in both, you will need to fill out both fields.
- Once the information is filled in, click Save Settings towards the top of the screen.

To download your Employee Handbook:
- Click on Safety Programs (upper toolbar)
- Choose Program Resources
- Click on Safety Handbooks from the options listed
- Click on the downward arrow under actions next to the appropriate document.
At the end of the Employee Handbooks, you will find an Employee Acknowledgement Form that employees can sign and return for your records.
If you prefer to keep an electronic copy, you can assign the Employee Safety Handbook Acknowledgement form through the Compliance Tracking section. Please note that employees must be added to the system before you can assign the form for them to complete.

These individual topics are universally available across all program types.
